Two-Time Pulitzer Prize Nominee (1007 and 2008) from Lafayette, Colorado
Jared Smith is the author of 7 acclaimed books of poetry: The Graves Grow Bigger Between Generations (Nominated for a Pulitzer as well as an Ames Award in 2008); Where Images Become Imbued With Time (Nominated for a Pulitzer in 2007); Lake Michigan and Other Poems; Walking the Perimeters of the Plate Glass Window Factory; Keeping the Outlaw Alive; Dark Wing; and Song of the Blood. His Selected Longer Poems is forthcoming in 2010. His work has appeared in hundreds of journals in this country and abroad, as well as being adapted to stage in New York and Chicago.
Jared is a member of the Advisory Board of The New York Quarterly, and has served on the editorial boards of The New York Quarterly, Home Planet News, The Pedestal, and Trail & Timberline. Jared is also a former executive of research and development at IGT, as well as Project Leader on Department of Defense and other government contracts, an adviser on technology and policy to the Clinton White House, and Special Appointee to Argonne National Laboratory.
